Objective To analyze and know solvency, development capacity and its trend of county-level hospitals in Hubei Province from 2011 to 2013 in order to provide references for deepening the county hospitals’ reform. Methods Based on the description of the economic status of the sample county-level hospitals, combined with effective comparative analysis, the change of solvency and development ability of county-level public hospitals in Hubei Province was studied. Results The level of the liability is on the high side of county general hospitals in Hubei Province, and the asset-liability ratio also continues to rise. But the short-term debt paying ability is low on the whole. In addition, the business revenue growth rate show a decline year by year, and growth rate of net assets has slower growth, which sees weak development capacity. Conclusion It is necessary to control hospitals’ development scale reasonably, improve the health service network system and strengthen the internal financial risk control to promote the sustainable development of the county hospitals.
